Following a series of social media posts that hinted at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. After months of posts on social media hints at it, a prestigious car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Space Key is a collection of five physical items which will unlock a special digital art by a yet to be identified artist. The 'collectors piece' was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to just five units. It will be auctioned soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research project. After returning to Earth, the block was engraved using a QR codes that link to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that happens seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was captured by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera that captured each of the individual images, which were then combined into the final image.
