The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top Rated robot vacuum-highest rated robot vacuum robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.

In our tests the i7+ was more agile and faster than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and is more effective on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of options for customizing your robotic vacuums cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings, and many more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well with higher-up objects like cords or socks which was a disappointment. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we've tested, which might be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible through the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and dustbin are washable for quick, easy cleanup. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
