WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item level upgrade upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item upgrader mod. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item upgrader kit has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
