Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature.
