Best Lightweight Single Stroller

Travel strollers aren't much lighter or more compact than this one. Its sleek design allows it to fold into a stylish rectangle shape and the wheels are easier to turn than others.

It also has a large under-seat storage area and an arm-strap that makes it easier to lug around when not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be noisy which can disturb a toddler who is sleeping.

1. Contours Itsy

A compact stroller The Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its small size. The basket in the back of the seat is spring loaded, so you can pull it down to put bags or diapers into and it will then pop up to protect the contents. It also has a child accessory tray and adjustable reclining seat back pad and a reclining seat back pad, which offer more options than you typically find on a lightweight stroller.

Additionally, it has an excellent canopy that is able to open and close to give you the level of sun protection you need, and the handlebar is adjustable in height four positions to ensure a good fit. We weren't too impressed by the ride quality over rough surfaces. We felt the wheels and suspension didn't do a very good job of absorbing bumps and shocks.

It's a great stroller for travel because it comes in a box fully assembled, and requires only few steps to get it ready to use. The seat can be pushed forward and backward to adjust the recline, which is pretty much flat. Two buttons on the frame allow it to fold and unfold. And it fits into a very convenient carrying bag when not in use. It's actually one of the smallest strollers we've tested, and it easily can meet the requirements of many airlines for cabin storage or gate-checking on planes. Just be sure to make sure to check with your airline prior to when you travel, as rules can differ. This is a great choice for those who are looking for a stroller that is lightweight. It comes with all the features parents want in a stroller, including all-terrain wheels and front suspension for a smooth ride. It is also incredibly lightweight at less than 12 pounds. It can be folded in one hand and stand up on its own. It has two cup holders on each tray to accommodate the parent and child.

The quality, however, is a little at the lower end, and it did not fare well in our tests of maneuverability. It also features a flexible frame which makes pushing it over rough surfaces feel like lifting a heavy weight. It is possible that you only use the stroller on sidewalks with paved surfaces. However, for the majority of people, it's not ideal.

The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy that has a peek-aboo window to provide additional sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can hold children up 50 pounds and features a five-point safety restraint. This is a great option for older toddlers that have outgrown their infant car seats.

It comes with a single-step and compact folding mechanism that can be collapsed with just a touch of a button. It also has an easy, foot-activated break that is simple to install and release.

However, the handle is lower than other strollers we looked at and some parents may find it uncomfortable for extended durations. The handle locks in position when it's opened. This is a good feature to have if are going to be using the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are constantly moving. This ultra-compact stroller is a breeze to fold up and down and easily fits in overhead compartments on planes as well as in trunks at the amusement park (no more worrying about parking charges). It is also equipped with a simple-zip bag for storage that is easy to carry. It can be used with the infant car adapter right from birth and provides excellent sun protection thanks to its canopy. The only downside is that some parents find the style to be a bit utilitarian and expensive.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than other light single pro stroller strollers. However, it was specifically designed for urban living and luxe travel. It's one of the strollers that fold easily and comes with a convenient carry case. It's got plenty of storage space as well as a cupholder. The seat reclines almost flat for both children and adult. This is the only stroller on our list that has a car seat adapter to allow it to be used with a newborn. Some short parents may not like the handlebar, as it does not adjust.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 isn't the lightest stroller on our list, but it comes with many wonderful features that help kids travel more easily. Its spacious seat reclines to a flat position, and it comes with extra padding so that those naps on the plane last longer. The canopy extends to provide excellent sun protection, and the tray is spacious with plenty of storage. It also has a spring-loaded footrest that doubles as a handle when folded. This footrest is prone to being damaged by baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Mini V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with a high-end design and quality. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver narrow streets and tight spaces, however its robust construction means it can withstand rough terrain without compromising the comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension at the front and back ensures an even more comfortable ride and its sturdy materials ensure it can stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. It can also be extended to accommodate other accessories such as an infant car seat.

Even with a baby on the way, the Minu was a breeze to fold and maneuver. Its squat, almost square fold, which folds in thirds, is one of the easiest in our tests and allows it to easily fit into overhead compartments on planes or public transportation. It has a single buggy-action color-coded brake that is simple to use.

The seat has an adjustable recline in multiple positions and a single-handed adjustable leg rest, making it easy to find the right position for your child. The UPF 50+ canopy is lowered quite a bit to protect Cora's face from the sun. There is also a medium-sized mesh peek-a-boo window that closes magnetically and adheres to the canopy rather than using noisy Velcro.

At less than 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is a breeze to carry with a built-in handle and shoulder strap. It can also be stowed in the trunk of your car, and it comes with a storage container and access to the TravelSafe program offered by Uppababy that gives two years to the manufacturer's warranty and covers replacements for any items damaged during air travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is an established brand that makes various strollers. This lightweight model is a good choice for parents looking for an all-purpose stroller that can carry kids around, offers ample storage, is fairly easy to maneuver and doesn't require an engineering degree to fold. It's not the ideal choice if you want a car seat-compatible model or a double stroller, however. It does not accept infant car seats. Your baby should be able to sit upright on their backs before they can use it.

This stroller is loaded with features and is available at a reasonable price. It scored a higher rating in our maneuverability review than some other models with similar specs, and is an excellent option for smooth pavements. It has a large parent tray, canopy and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is a little stiff and the handlebar is a bit smaller than the norm, but it still provides an enjoyable ride for adults.

If you have twins, or two children who are different ages you may find a side by side stroller to be the best single buggy choice for them to travel in. Our top pick is the Joovy Twin Groove. It comes with a variety of features and has a tiny footprint, so it can fit in places where other side-byside strollers won't.

It has a big canopy, with a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's heavier than some other side-by-sides however it has a good weight capacity and can handle most children up to 50 lbs. You can also add a bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate newborns.

The Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is an elegant version of the stroller. It offers the same great features as the model above and can be fitted with a bassinet that allows you to bring your baby home from the hospital in style.
