How to Repair Bifold Door Top Roller Guide

If your bifold doors are sticking, it's likely that they need some maintenance. You may have to clean, lubricate or adjust them. The issue could be caused by an unfastened bolt on the top pivot, or by the top guide roller.

Remove the Door

This issue can be fixed by getting rid of the bottom pivot adjustment screws and loosening the top track mounting screws and moving the anchor/pivot.

A new set of top roller guides is a low-cost solution to a problem that could make repair bifold door top pivot doors difficult to operate. They are usually available at your local hardware store in the door section but they're also available on the internet through a variety of vendors. In addition to a new top guide for rollers, you'll need a small container of Elmer's wood glue which is sold in the big box stores and a squeeze clamp. The clamp is used to keep the repair bifold door top pivot area tightly closed after the glue has been inserted and allowed to dry.
