WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade items will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item level upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item level upgrade [Peatix.Com] has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one use therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make.
